Very Quick Update

The folks are finally moved into the new house - kind of the final step to moving on from Katrina - although I don't know that you ever completely move on, just maybe move along. You can check out the whole construction process at www.schlatter.org

I'm still sending out resumes, trying to find a job as an attorney in the DC area. I'm definitely working on my patience!

15 Days . . .

Ok, so I'm still looking for a job and while waiting, I'm doing legal temp work. While it pays well, I'm now on 15 days straight of working about 12-14 hours a day. At this point, I'm beginning to question my sanity! And the 15 days prior to this were worked w/ only one day off! Ugh!

The bright side is that I have an interview on Tuesday! I'll let you know how it goes - either way, at least it's an interview!

Summertime = Concerts

So this week is the week for concerts!

Tuesday night I went to see Brendan James at the Corcoran Gallery. If you haven't heard of him - you will! He is the best new artist I have heard in years and highly recommend you get his cd "The Day Is Brave"

Friday night I'm going to see Alison Krauss and Robert Plant. Can't wait! I'll write more about it later.

Can't wait until Monday!

Monday is going to be the best day ever - I will be in Richmond to be sworn in as a member of the VA bar! Yea! The folks and my twin brother will be there too. I'll post some pics afterwards. Have a great weekend!

Memorial Day

Just wanted to share some pictures from Arlington National Cemetery from Memorial Day weekend. I hope if you have family or friends who served in the military, you take time this weekend to say thank you to them. I'd like to thank my granddad, dad, twin brother, uncles, and friends for their service.

Still Searching . . .

So the job search continues. I've been making contacts and sending out lots of resumes, although the market right now doesn't seem to be very good. My dream job would be with the Department of Justice - Civil Rights division, but from what I understand, it is very difficult to get in there. I am applying for several non-profit jobs with organizations that do civil rights work too.

I think the biggest thing I am learning from this job search is patience - so at least something positive is coming out of it so far! I'm just going to keep plugging away and eventually something will happen - I know it!
